You’re all set! Let’s save your first chat.
AI Chat Exporter is installed. These steps take about a minute.
Your first export
Pin the extension
Click the puzzle-piece icon at the top right of your browser, then the pin next to AI Chat Exporter. Its icon now stays in your toolbar.
Open a chat
Go to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or another supported AI and open a conversation. If the tab was already open, refresh it once.
Choose a format
Click the AI Chat Exporter icon. Pick PDF, Word, Markdown, HTML, JSON or a picture.
Click Export
The file lands in your Downloads folder, with a short check that every message was saved.

Continue in another AI
Move a chat from one AI to another and carry on the conversation there.
Outline for long chats
Use the floating outline on the chat page to jump between questions.
Folders and prompts
Save chats into folders and keep your favourite prompts one click away.
Your language
The extension speaks 13 languages. Change it any time in Settings.
Notes apps
Export Markdown ready for Obsidian, Logseq, Notion, Bear or NotePlan.
